Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman (born 5 August 1981), better known as Gus Miftah, is an Indonesian preacher.
Early life
[edit]Miftah was born Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman on 5 August 1981 in Lampung, Indonesia.[1] He was the 9th descendant of Kiai Ageng Besari, the founder of Tegalsari Islamic Boarding School in Ponorogo Regency.[1] Miftah is known by the half of community as a preacher that focused on marginal community.[1] He graduated from middle and high school at Pondok Pesantren Bustanul I'lum, and went to Faculty of Tarbiyah at Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University majoring in Islamic education in 1999.[1] Miftah didn't finished his college even though he only has to take a few lecture and finished his thesis.[1] He then earned his bachelor's degree from Faculty of Islamic at Sultan Agung Islamic University after finishing public thesis judgement on 6 February 2023.[1]
Personal life
[edit]Miftah is married to Ning Astuti (born Dwi Astuti Ningsi), an educator, in 2004.[2] They had two children, Atqiyah Maulana Habiburrohman (born 2006) and Mufti Nabil Ulayya Mecca (born 2015).[2]
Career
[edit]Miftah founded Islamic boarding school in Sleman Regency and founded Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School which located on the same place in 2011.[1] This Islamic boarding school was initiated by him to accommodate marginalized people who want to know more about religion and God.[1] After that, Miftah began to preach in unusual places, such as localities and nightlife venues.[1]
On 22 October 2024, Miftah was appointed by President Prabowo Subianto as Special Presidential Envoy for Religious Harmony and Development of Religious Facilities.[3]
