Navajo consonants are given with pairs contrasting based on voicing (for example /t/ vs. /d/) rather than aspiration (for example, /tʰ/ vs. /t/). This is not in accordance with modern research on the subject. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navajo_phonology for more information.
- As with the preceding editor, I'm also confused as to why this page assumes a voicing distinction when the Navajo language and Navajo phonology pages (as well as Navajo entries on Wiktionary) assume an aspiration distinction. The aspiration distinction is the one that also corroborates phonetic work on the language. --SameerKhan (talk) 01:43, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
