Heukelum is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Lingewaal, and lies about 8 km northeast of Gorinchem. It received city rights in 1391.

In 2001, the town of Heukelum had 1967 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.37 km², and contained 744 residences.[1] The statistical area "Heukelum", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 2210.[2]

Heukelum was a separate municipality until 1986, when it became part of Vuren. The area was part of South Holland until then.[3]
