Musical style
[edit]Categorizing him and his sound is quite difficult. His sound is a unique blend of several cultural, societal, and environmental influences from throughout the 2010s, including various themes which mainstream music generally strayed from. Hentai, anime, mediaeval fantasy, violence, sex, demons and hell were all themes commonly found in Hi-c’s music, which were far cries from the emotional and vulnerable music that hip-hop shifted to during this period. His sound is unique and has been honed over a decade specifically around his interests and and and transitions from classic early 2000s hip hop, to slow, darker, more sinister version of cloud rap, to now East Coast New York Jerk rap which is much faster. However, it is important to remember that boxing artists into genre labels is difficult and unrealistic.
