Hipposcarus longiceps is a species of ray-finned fish in the Scaridae family. The scientific name of this species was first published in 1840 by Valenciennes (as "Scarus longiceps").[1]

The species is on the IUCN Red List as Least Concern, assessment year 2009.[2]
