Holy Cross Hospital is a 501(c)(3)[1] not-for-profit teaching hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The hospital, the second largest in Maryland, was founded in 1963 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. There are over 1,200 doctors in the hospital, which has 443 beds, and sees nearly 200,000 patients per year.

History

The Hospital started in 1963 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross congregation. The hospital was the first in Maryland to have an MRI machine. The hospital is a member of Trinity Health. In 2008, the hospital created an emergency center specifically designed to treat seniors who had acute health problems that were not life-threatening.[2]
