Hood River Valley High School (HRVHS) is a public high school in Hood River, Oregon, United States. HRVHS was the result of the consolidation of two smaller high schools at the time of its founding.

School

HRVHS is a Title 1 school and therefore must comply with such federal regulations as No Child Left Behind.[3]

Academics

Hood River Valley High School has a drop out rate of 2.8% and the attendance rate of the school is 94%. Of the 38% of students who took the SAT, the average Verbal score was 504 and the average Math score was 507.[2]

For the 2006 Oregon Statewide Assessments, the score for Reading was 57%, the state average being 55%. For Science, the score was 50%, below the state average of 62%. In Writing the score was 55%, equal to the state average of 55%. The score for Math was 38% and the state average was 45%.[4]

In 2008, 76% of the school's seniors received their high school diploma. Of 314 students, 238 graduated, 53 dropped out, 5 received a modified diploma, and 18 are still in high school.[5][6]
