Ilex brasiliensis, "Brazilian holly," is a species of Ilex genus in the Aquifoliaceae family.[1]

It is native to Brazil, Paraguay and northern Argentina,[1] and is typically found in Cerrado vegetation.[citation needed]

It is occasionally used as an adulterant in maté.
