Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (Template:Lang-tr, MÜSİAD), is a non-governmental organization consisting mostly of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), founded by a group of Turkish businessmen on 5 May 1990.
The objective of the association is to help Turkey reach the state of a country that conserves local and universal values; that is effective in its region, is respected worldwide and is prosperous; that ensures the development of Turkey and the world in the social, cultural and technologic sectors.[1][2] According to 2015 records, MÜSİAD has 85 contact points in Turkey, 159 contact points in 63 different countries, and more than 11,000 members. The association holds an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certificate.
MÜSİAD organizes an annual defense industry fair called High-Tech Port by MÜSİAD. The second fair was held between 6–8 October 2015 in Doha, Qatar, and promoted billions of dollars of trade between Turkey and Qatar.[3][4] MÜSİAD also supports Turkey’s Housing Developers and Investors Organization (KONUTDER) exhibitions to increase real estate trade ties to investors from the Gulf.[5]
