Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal is one among the 20 IIITs established under the non-profit Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by MHRD. MHRD, Govt. of India in collaboration with Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and Private industry partners intends to establish IIIT Bhopal on a N-PPP basis(Not for profit).

The contribution made by Govt. of India, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh and Industry Partners will be in the ratio of 50:35:15. As of now the total capital cost is estimated to be INR 128 Crores. It is presently functioning inside the campus of MANIT, Bhopal, with some of its students staying in the campus of RGPV, Bhopal Govt. has already identified 50 acres of land for setting up the permanent campus of IIIT.[1]
