Inspecter 7 is an American ska band formed in 1992 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

With a sound that combines all three waves of ska (traditional, two-tone and third wave), the band became a fixture in the ska scene in New York City, New York, throughout the mid-1990s.

History

They originally played shows as Agent 86 until late 1993, when they renamed themselves Inspecter 7.[1]

After releasing a seven-inch single on Moon Ska Records, and appearing on several compilation albums, including all three volumes of the Oi: Skampilation series, the band signed to New York City record label Radical Records and began extensive East Coast touring. That year[when?] they released their first full-length album, The Infamous, which received positive reviews.

In 1997, the band toured nationally with Moon Ska Recording artists The Skoidats.

Over the years, they shared the stage with ska acts including The Scofflaws,[2] Bad Manners, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mephiskapheles, The Skatalites.

In 2013, they released their third full-length album, Escapes And Illusions, on Little Dickman Records.

Scorsese licensed One Step Beyond for use in The Wolf of Wall Street.[3]
