Iron Soldier 3 is a open-world first-person mecha simulation video game developed by Eclipse Software Design and originally published by Vatical Entertainment for the PlayStation on June 20, Template:Vgy. It is the direct sequel of Iron Soldier 2 and the last entry to be released in the Iron Soldier franchise. It was later ported to the Nuon in Template:Vgy.

Gameplay

The player controls a 42-foot-tall (13 m) robot to defend the United Republic, one of the last free countries left in this futuristic world, from PENTA Industries, one of the many huge corporations that became more powerful with the rapid industrialization of the world.

There are machine guns, missiles, grenades, a flame thrower, and more. In addition to the standard Iron Soldier, the player can pilot a smaller, faster chicken-walker type robot and a new slower, more heavily armed walker. There are new game modes added since Iron Soldier 2.

There is still a single player mode, with 25 missions to complete. There is also an arcade mode, where the objective is to level every building in the area in the fastest time possible. Finally, there is a two player mode.

After the game was published in western regions, Eclipse was approached by a Japanese publisher to localize the game in the region, however, Marc declined the offer due to the proposed decision of making it play faster and enable mechs to fly.[1] A version of the game, titled Iron Soldier 3+, was in development for both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox but it was cancelled.[1]
