The Iron (IPA) /ɪ.ɹɔːn/ )are a subgroup of the Ossetians. They speak in the Iron dialect, one of the two main dialects of the Ossetian language. The majority of Irons are Eastern Orthodox with Muslim minority. Their endonym is etymologically related to the other Iranian designations like Irani and Alani, and English Aryan (from Sanskrit ārya, 'noble').
