Ivan Obradović (Serbian Cyrillic: Иван Обрадовић; born 25 July 1988) is a Serbian footballer who plays for Belgian club Anderlecht, as a left back.
Club career
Obradović is a product of FK Partizan's youth system. On 22 April 2007, he made his senior debut for Partizan under head coach Miroslav Đukić in a league match against FK Vojvodina. Until the end of the 2006–07 season, he recorded four more league appearances. He signed his first professional contract with Partizan on 7 June 2007.[1]
In the 2007–08 season, his first full playing for Partizan, he made 19 league appearances and ended the season winning his first league medal.
At Partizan, Obradović made 55 league appearances scoring only one goal against FK Javor, the game ended 1–1. While in the youth categories of Partizan, he held the nickname of Gari which in Serbian alludes to the fact that he has tanned skin.[2]
Obradović left Partizan and was signed up by Real Zaragoza in 2009 on a 5-year contract for an undisclosed fee[3] He made his La Liga debut on 29 August, against CD Tenerife.[4]
In 2013 he was released by the club. In January 2014 he was close to a move to Dutch Eredivisie leaders Vitesse Arnhem, but the club decided to buy Rochdi Achenteh instead.
International career
Obradović made his international debut for the Serbian national team on 6 September 2008, in a FIFA World Cup 2010 qualifier, in Belgrade against Faroe Islands. He scored his first international goal against Austria on 15 October 2008. Also representing Serbia at the 2010 world cup.
