Jaan Talts (born May 19, 1944) is a former Estonian weightlifter and Olympic champion who competed for the USSR

Career

Born in Massiaru, Laiksaare, Pärnumaa, Talts won a gold medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.[1] He received a silver medal in 1968. Throughout his career, he set 43 world records.[2]

Accolades

In 1998 he was elected as a member of the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame.[3]
