Jai Ram Thakur was a cabinet minister in Bharatiya Janata Party ministry in Himachal Pradesh. He was minister of rural development and panchayati raj. He was elected to Himachal Pradesh Assembly from Mandi. He has won his first election in the year of 1998.

Jai Ram Thakur is son of Jethu Ram Thakur, He was born on 6 January 1965 at Tandi (Near Thunag), Distt. Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. His wife name is Dr. Sadhna Thakur.[1]
