James Collett

James Collett (18 August 1655 – 29 May 1727) was an English-born merchant who settled in Norway and became the largest timber trader in Christiania. He was born in London. He settled in Christiania in 1683, and married in 1686. In the early 18th century, he exported more timber from Christiania than anybody else, and operated about one dozen ships.[1][2]
