James Hays Eckhouse

James Hays Eckhouse (born February 14, 1955) is an American actor known for playing Jim Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1990 to 1995. He also directed three episodes of the show. In reality, Eckhouse was only 14 years older than the actor portraying his television son, Jason Priestley.

Before his part on Beverly Hills, 90210, Eckhouse played an extra in such films as Trading Places (as Eddie Murphy's prison guard) and he had bit roles in the films Fatal Attraction and Cocktail. He was a series regular on Beverly Hills, 90210 from the pilot episode in 1990 until the end of the fifth season in 1995.

Personal life

James studied briefly at MIT before beginning his acting career. Eckhouse is Jewish. [1] He has a wife and two sons and is currently living and working in Los Angeles. He and his wife Sheila Kiliher Walsh have two sons, James Gabriel Eckhouse (Gabe) and John Alexander Eckhouse (Zander). Gabe is a former student at Deep Springs College and currently attends UC Berkeley. Zander is studying film at NYU and currently has a starring role on ABC Family's series Huge.
