Jane Fallon (born 9 December 1960) is the author of six top ten best-selling novels, Getting Rid of Matthew (which reached number 7 in the Nielsen Bookscan Fiction Top 10 in 2007), Got You Back (number 5 in 2008), Foursome (number 8 in 2010), The Ugly Sister (number 2 in 2011), Skeletons (2014) and Strictly Between Us in 2016. She is a former television producer, and her most famous work is on the popular series Teachers, 20 Things To Do Before You're 30, EastEnders and This Life. In 2011, Foursome was nominated for the Melissa Nathan Award for Romantic Comedy Fiction.
Fallon has been in a relationship with comedian Ricky Gervais since 1982.
Early life
Fallon's parents had a newsagent's shop. She grew up in a flat above her parents' shop.[1] She was educated at St Bernard's Convent School in Slough, Berkshire and University College London where she studied history.[2]
Personal life
She has been in a relationship with comedian Ricky Gervais since 1982; they met while both studying at University College London. The couple have lived together since 1984 and are based in Hampstead.[3] They have a cat called Ollie which was given to them by Jonathan Ross on his Friday night show.[4]
