Biography

Before becoming a boxer, Asare was a good enough footballer to be on the books of both Cardiff City and Swansea City.[1]

Asare, who comes from Pontypridd, won a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.[2] An electrician by profession, Asare secured the medal with a win over Samoa's Filimaua Hala.[3]

In 2011 he received a 12-month prison sentence for affray and breaching a restraining order when he broke into his ex-partner's home.[4]

Since turning professional in 2012 he has competed in several bouts across Wales.
