The Jhinwar, also known as Kashyap Rajput, is a Hindu caste and Sikh caste found in the states of Haryana and Punjab in India. They are also known as Mehra or Mehre.^{[citation needed]} A smaller number of Kashyap Rajput are Sikh.

Traditionally, the Jhinwar community was associated with occupations such as boating,^[1] carrying water^[2] and river fishing.^[3]
