John Foley is a retired American college football linebacker who played for coach Lou Holtz at the University of Notre Dame. In 1985 while playing for St. Rita High School in Chicago, Illinois, he was named as the USA Today High School Defensive Player of the Year.[1][2]

Foley did not play any games in the National Football League. In 2000 he began work as an investment banker in Memphis, Tennessee.
