Life and work

Jonn Burgerman studied art foundations in Bournville, Birmingham, England. He graduated in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University[2] in 2001.

In 2008 he appeared as a guest on the popular BBC TV show Blue Peter and in 2008 was part of the original The Underbelly Project, which saw selected artists exhibit in a secret incomplete 100-year-old subway station deep underneath the streets of New York City.

The year 2008 also saw the publication by IDN of a 300-page monograph of Jon's work, Pens Are My Friends, that came with an accompanying DVD of films, animations and talks, whilst Kidrobot released the 14 piece mini figure vinyl toy collection The Heroes of Burgertown.

In 2013 Jon co-produced and provided the artwork for documentary film The Great Hip Hop Hoax (dir. Jeanie Finlay), which premiered at SXSW film festival, Austin, Texas.

He has received a Cannes Lions Advertising award, two D&AD Silver award nominations and has collaborated with brands that include: Pepsi, CocaCola, Nike, Sony, Sky, Kidrobot, Puma, Nintendo, MTV, Levis, 55DSL, Miss Sixty, Little Big Planet, AOL, Size?, Nooka, Rip Curl and Crocs.
