Juan Cabral (director)
Juan Cabral (born 1978) is an Argentine film director known for directing the Cadbury's 'Gorilla' advert and coming up with the ideas for Sony Bravia's 'Paint', 'Balls' & 'Rabbits' advertisements.[1][2] He currently works with the production company MJZ.
Career
Cabral started out studying graphic design and painting at the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina before beginning his career working for Agulla & Baccetti, where he worked on advertisements for HSBC, Sprite and Renault. He then joined advertising agency Mother, where he worked on advertisements for The Observer and Orange.[3]
In 2004 Cabral moved to London and joined Fallon, producing the Cadbury's 'Gorilla' advert and the Sony Bravia series.[1][3] In 2011 Cabral left Fallon to join MJZ after returning to Argentina in 2008 and is currently a commercial film director.[1]
Over his ten-year career he has won many awards, including seven Cannes Lions and three One Show awards.[citation needed]
In 2014 Cabral directed commercials for Lurpak and Ikea.[4]
