Kaalamellam Kaathiruppen (Tamil: காலமெல்லாம் காத்திருப்பேன் ; English: I Will Wait Forever) is 1997 Tamil film directed by R. Sundarrajan. The film stars Vijay and Dimple in the lead roles, while R. Sundarrajan, Jaishankar, Srividya, Manivannan and Delhi Ganesh play other pivotal roles. The music for the film was composed by Deva and the film released on 14 January 1997.[1][2]

Story

Kannan (Vijay) is the only son of Jaisankar and Sri Vidya. He's very rich and spends a lot of money every day. Kannan is in charge of arranging the college cultural function. He happens to hear Manimekalai (Dimple) sing in a temple, and he asks her to sing in the college function, by laying roads for her entire area, repairing all plumbing problems. But she refuses. All of Kannan's attempts to make her sing fail. In that process Kannan falls in love with her; Manimekalai hates him. She gets him arrested for eve teasing and, triggered by that, Kannan tries to marry Manimekalai by force. That fails miserably. Then Kannan's mother reveals that he is not their biological son, but an adopted orphan. Then his mother dies suddenly. His father also becomes paralysed. Kannan has a change of heart and serves his immobile father. His father gives all his properties to Kannan.r. His father also passes away in 2 months. Meanwhile to forget all these and to start a new life, Manimekalai goes to Ooty and joins Karan's company as assistant manager. Kannan follows her and this time he wants to apologise to her. Kannan joins in the same company where Manimekalai works as the owner's car driver. Manimekalai tries to make him leave Ooty by any legal means. She also mistakenly accuses him of stealing cash from her table, which she had just placed inside the locker. Kannan is beaten and dismissed. Then manimekalai attempts suicide, but her neighbours save her. Karan comes to her and reveals her mistake of accusing Kannan and also informs her that he has rehired kannan as their company bus conductor. manimegalai's father also informs her that kannan has donated all his wealth to orphanages and has changed completely. Manaimegalai realises her mistake and falls in love with Kannan. Initially kannan refuses her.But when the boss kidnaps manimegalai as he loves her too, Kannan saves her and they reconcile. The boss also realises his mistake and blesses them. Finally they both live happily together in Ooty.
