Karl Augustus "Dick" Esleeck[1] (August 18, 1903 – December 15, 1952) was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Richmond from 1948 until 1950, compiling a record of 10–18–2. Esleeck attended and played college football at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute.[2][1] One of his most recorded achievements was coaching several higschool teams for state championship.[3] He died after a long illness in 1952.[4] In 1977, Esleeck was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.[5]
