Katahariya is a village development committee in Rautahat District in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4619 people living in 835 individual households.One of the famous temple of katahariya is Boudhimai temple.
Kahariya is famous for its vegetables and cattle market. It's also known as Katahariya Bazaar. It has a well-maintained Farmers' market(Vegetable) and Cattle(domestic-animal) market. Katahariya is a fast-growing VDC, the main occupations of local people being business and farming.
