Kataram is a village and mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district in the state of Telangana in India.[1]
It is also known as Garepally. Kataram is village with main source of income as Agriculture, Garepally is town with main source of income as Business. Although Kataram and Garepally are considered as one town. Locals consider it as two different parts. Kataram was established first and then in later days business has started in outskirts of Kataram (towards Mahadepur and Bhupalpaly from Kataram), which led to migration of many people from surrounding villages to outskirts of Kataram. Due to migration of people and start of business, the area has emerged to a town, which was named as Garepally in later days. Kataram is considered as mandal of Garepally.
