Kate Stoltz is an American model, designer,and television personality based in New York City, also known as the star of the reality show Breaking Amish.

Early life

Stoltz was born Katie Stoltzfus on September 21, 1991, in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, on a 100-acre (40 ha) farm to an Amish family. Kate Stoltz was the middle child in a family of seven children, and spent her days working on the farm and sewing clothing for herself and her immediate family.

Modeling work

Kate Stoltz moved to New York City to pursue a career in modeling and immediately found work.[1] She worked for Union Bay, Spiegal, Bella, and Gypsy Sisters.[2] She posed for Maxim magazine in July 2013.[3][4]

Television work

Kate Stoltz starred in a reality TV show called Breaking Amish[5] and has since participated in two follow-up shows: Breaking Amish: Brave New World and Return to Amish the latter of which premiered on 1 June 2014 on the TLC network.[6]

Fashion work

Kate Stoltz began her own fashion line in 2015,[7] using the sewing skills she acquired while growing up in the Amish community, and the education from receiving her Associates Degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. The "Kate Stoltz" label focuses on made to measure luxury women's wear, with a focus on detail and quality. Kate Stoltz won the 2014 Demiurge Award for her work and art as an emerging designer in New York City.

Activism

Kate Stoltz is the spokesperson for the nonprofit organization Developing Faces, a mission that visits Guatemala every year to help people with facial abnormalities. Stoltz also volunteers at Food Bank and MCC, donating quilts and time to people in need.
