Kidz Bop 23 is the 23rd album in the Kidz Bop series and was released on January 15, 2013. It debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart with sales of over 81,000 copies (28,000 via digital download), the best sales week for any Kidz Bop album since Kidz Bop 10 sold 117,000 in August 2006.[1] In addition to television advertisements and the series' website, sales were buoyed by the launch of a line of toys and karaoke machines in late 2012 and a Burger King kids meal promotion.[1] As of February 2014, the album sold 392,000 copies in the United States.[2]

Critical response

Heather Phares of Allmusic believes "the Kidz Bop phenomenon shows little sign of slowing" with covers of songs "that were kid-friendly in the first place and songs that aren't necessarily inappropriate for kids but sound weird being sung by them".[4]
