"Kill the Lights"
Song

"Kill the Lights" is a song written by actor, singer and songwriter Alex Newell featuring production work from American funk music producer DJ Cassidy and electric guitarist Nile Rodgers. It later featured vocals from dance-pop singer-songwriter Jess Glynne. All of them collaborated on the song together as part of the soundtrack for the 2016 HBO television series Vinyl.[1] It was recorded back in March 2015, when Newell and Cassidy were collaborating and experimenting music with other artists and Glynne was concluding her I Cry When I Laugh era. Rodgers also collaborated with a lot of artists at the time, including Laura Mvula and Sigala.

Music video
