Kitinen is a river of Finland. It flows for 278 kilometres (173 mi). It is a tributary of Kemijoki. The river flows through the municipalities of Kittilä, Pelkosenniemi and Sodankylä in Finnish Lapland. The Porttipahta Reservoir is located in the upper course of the river. The biggest tributary of Kitinen is Luiro.
