Kleinfelder, Inc. is a multinational employee-owned company providing architecture, engineering, and science consulting services. Kleinfelder operates 63 office locations in the United States and Canada, with additional offices located in Australia.[1] The company headquarters are located in San Diego, California. In 2014, Kleinfelder was ranked 39th in Engineering News-Record's 2014 Top 500 Design Firm rankings [2] placing it among the top 50 engineering companies in the United States.

History

In 1961, the company was founded by Jim Kleinfelder in Stockton, California under the name of Stockton Testing and Controls. The company was primarily involved in construction materials testing.[3] In 2009, Kleinfelder fully acquired SEA Consultants, an engineering, architecture and scientific consulting firm located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[4]

In September 2016, George J. Pierson, former CEO of Parsons Brinckerhoff, was named CEO of Kleinfelder, replacing Kevin Pottmeyer, the company’s interim President and CEO.[5]
