Aldona receives the baptism on which she receives the name Anna. Princess and Casimir get married.

1333. After seven years, Anna is already the mother of two daughters, Elizabeth and Cunigunde. It is difficult for her to find herself outside, which is not facilitated by the hostile behavior of Jadwiga, who wants to get rid of her daughter-in-law from the castle. A message about the illness of the king, Władysław, is hidden from Anna. He learns about it by accident. He also hears how Jadwiga states that as long as she is alive, she will wear a crown and prevent the royal coronation of her daughter-in-law, in whom conversion does not believe. Anna is looking for help with her brother Algierdas, who comes to Kraków on her request. Jadwiga accuses them of treason and plotting against the kingdom. Anna can not come to terms with another husband's betrayal when the illegitimate daughter of Casimir, Jolenta, appears in Wawel. Algierdas wants to take her to Lithuania, which is very pleasing to Jadwiga. The princess knows, however, that her place is at the side of her husband and children.

After the death of the king, Jadwiga tries to prevent her daughter-in-law's royal coronation by all possible means. She still does not believe in her conversion and readiness to perform royal functions. In the meantime, Anna notices that Christian faith is very important to her. She begins to oppose the methods used by Egle. The princess feels lonely and surrounded by enemies in the castle. The kingdom is circulating about the pregnancy of Queen Anna. The queen is afraid that this time she will give birth to a son whom Casimir so desperately wants and what everyone expects of her.

Anna cares for her mother-in-law's illness, despite the many insults and humiliations she suffered from her. After Jadwiga regained her strength, her attitude towards her daughter-in-law changed. She becomes like a mother to her who has never been. It is very happy for Anna. Katarzyna, however, does not intend to stop the task entrusted to her by Jadwiga, namely – finding Arunas and plunging the young queen. Anna and Egle discover her true intentions and using the fact that Katarzyna constantly eavesdrops at the door of the queen's chamber, they direct her search in the wrong direction.

Under the influence of Katarzyna's manipulation, Anna throws Gabija out of the castle. Katarzyna also leads Jadwiga to order Egle to leave the castle. Queen Anna feels lonely and abandoned by her relatives. She knows that she can not count on anyone. At her request, Casimir orders to look for Egle, which exposes her to her mother, who goes to Sącz again, leaving Katarzyna behind.

Pregnancy is a difficult time for Anna in her life. She feels that, although she is a queen, no one counts with her opinion. Casimir does not listen when she convinces him of Katarzyna's manipulations or when she warns him about Machna. In addition, she often gets ill and the pregnancy is at risk.

After the discovery of another betrayal of Casimir, this time with Machna, Anna wants to escape from it and an accident happens – she falls down the stairs and loses consciousness. After the accident, the queen gives birth to a dead son and her condition worsens.
