Lanark Village is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Florida, United States, located along U.S. 98, on the Gulf of Mexico.

Geography

Lanark Village is located at 29°53′0″N 84°35′45″W / 29.88333°N 84.59583°W / 29.88333; -84.59583. Lanark Village was formed when Camp Gordon Johnston was closed in June 1946. Camp Gordon Johnston opened in 1942 for the sole purpose of training amphibious soldiers and their support groups, this camp trained a quarter of a million men. The trained soldiers were used in the attack on D-Day.[1]
