Laung Laachi is a Punjabi song sung by Mannat Noor from the movie Laung Laachi.[1] On 20th December, Laung Laachi became first Indian song to reach the landmark of 1 billion views on YouTube and is credited as India's most viewed video. The song was released on 21st February 2018.[2]

Music video[edit]

The music video is directed by Amberdeep Singh, and stars Neeru Bajwa, Ammy Virk, and Singh in it. Choreography was done by Arvind Thakur and Ritchie Burton. In an interview, Singh told that video was shot three times.

The song was released by T-Series on 21 February 2018, and as of December 2019, has received over 1 billion views, becoming the first Indian music video to achieve this milestone.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

Background[edit]

The song was produced for the soundtrack of the movie Laung Laachi. It has a retro feel to it using real instruments with a typical Punjabi beat.

Recreations[edit]

The Hindi version from the movie Luka Chuppi named "Tu Laung Main Elaichi" was released by T-Series, sung by Tulsi Kumar.[10] There are many popular covers of the song like in Pashto language, male versions uploaded by independent creators on YouTube.
