Cast

Jack McCoy (played by Sam Waterston) replaced season 4's Ben Stone (Michael Moriarty) as Executive Assistant District Attorney. Mike Logan (played by Chris Noth) departed the cast after this season, thus making Adam Schiff (played by Steven Hill) the last remaining first season cast member.

Notes and references

Sam Waterston joins the cast as Jack McCoy in this season.
This is the final season to feature Chris Noth as Det. Mike Logan; he would later reprise his character in the TV movie Exiled: A Law & Order Movie in 1998, and on Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2005.
Courtney B. Vance appeared in a major role in the episode "Rage". He would later star as a regular in Law & Order: Criminal Intent as A.D.A. Ron Carver.
The events of the episode "Coma" continues in the following season episode "Encore".
