Template:Geobox Lietava is a village and municipality in Žilina District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. The village is also home to the third largest castle in Slovakia: Lietava Castle.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in the year 1300 AD.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 429 metres and covers an area of 10.005km². It has a population of about 1450 people.
