Like a Boss is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Miguel Arteta and written by Sam Pitman & Adam Cole-Kelly. The film stars Tiffany Haddish, Rose Byrne, and Salma Hayek. The film will be released on January 10, 2020, by Paramount Pictures.

Premise

Two female friends with very different ideals decide to start a beauty company together. One is more practical, while the other wants to earn her fortune and live a lavish lifestyle. Things take a turn for the worse when their benefactor starts stealing from them.

On October 23, 2017, it was announced that Paramount Pictures had bought a female comedy spec Limited Partners specially a starring lead role for Tiffany Haddish, script written by Sam Pitman & Adam Cole-Kelly, the film would be produced by Peter Principato, Itay Reiss, and Joel Zadak through their Principato-Young Entertainment (now known as Artists First).[1]

In July 2018, Paramount won the bidding war over the starring role for Haddish, and the film would be directed by Miguel Arteta.[2] Later the same month, Rose Byrne was cast in the film to play one of the lead roles.[3] In September 2018, Salma Hayek was cast in the film to play a supporting role.[4] In October 2018, Ari Graynor, Jacob Latimore, Karan Soni, Jimmy O. Yang, Natasha Rothwell, Jessica St. Clair and Billy Porter joined the cast of the film.[5]

Principal photography on the film began in October 2018.[4] In July 2019, the film was re-titled Like a Boss.[6]

Release

Like a Boss is scheduled to be released on January 10, 2020 by Paramount Pictures.[7] It was previously scheduled to be released on June 28, 2019.[8]
