This is a list of people who have held the position of Superintendent of Public Instruction of Wisconsin. Political party affiliation is indicated by shading for superintendents elected prior to 1902, when partisan elections for this office were ended. Since 1902, superintendents have been elected on a non-partisan basis with no affiliation on the ballot, although they are allowed to be members of a political party. Tony Evers and Herbert J. Grover were both prominent Democrats, while Charles P. Cary was a Republican.
^Lee Dreyfus served as "interim superintendent" during this period, but was never officially superintendent.
