Lucas Evangelista Santana de Oliveira (born 6 May 1995 in Limeira) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Brazilian club São Paulo.

Career

São Paulo

Evangelista was professionalized for Tricolor paulista in May 2013, after the club had been eliminated in 2013 Copa Libertadores. The president of club, Juvenal Juvêncio, with along the coach of that time, Ney Franco, removed seven players, and, from the youth system, young stars were called to main staff.[1]

Protected even from interviews, Evangelista had more expectations than Lucas Moura, who was sold for PSG by São Paulo some months ago. He made his début in the draw by 0-0 against Atlético Mineiro, in June 2013.[2]

In August 11, 2013, he scored his first goal playing by São Paulo FC: in lose by 1-2 against Portuguesa de Desportos, Evangelista lobbed his marking-man and shot to goal defended by Lauro. Even in a crisis of club, the young praised his goal, dedicating it for his father (in Brazil, that day was Father's Day), Jesus.[3]

After 2013 season, Evangelista praised his chances in main staff of club. According him: "In starting, when I was promoted, I was shocked. In young teams, our treatment is different, but, as long as time passes, I was adapting in game style. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good year, but, personally, it was productive."[4]
