Madhopur lies on the Jalandhar-Pathankot road which is almost 5 km from it. The nearest railway station to Madhopur is Bhogpur railway station at a distance of 4.5 km. It has been home to many noble families carrying the last name of the House of Sangha. Many notable Indian nobility such as the late Prince of Madhopur Ajit Sangha have been born and raised here during their rules. The current Prince of Madhopur is Sukhbir Sangha. The title is hereditary and officially recognized by the State of Punjab.
