Mahbubul Alam Tara (Bengali: মাহাবুবুল আলম; 1939–2014) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the Member of Parliament for constituency Feni-3 from 1991 to 1996.[1]

Biography

1939  : Born in Faradnagar, Feni

1945 – 1958  : Schooling at Khaiyara School, Faradnagar & Chittagong Collegiate School

1960  : HSC from Chittagong College; Got elected General Secreatary of Students’ Union, Chittagong College

1962  : Got elected Vice President of Students’ Union, Chittagong College President, East Pakistan Chhatra Union (EPSU), Chittagong Jila Shakha

Actively participated & led movement against Ayub Khan & Shikkha Commission

1963-64  : Student of Dept of Economics, University of Dhaka; Office Secretary (Daptor Shompadok), Central Committee, East Pakistan Chhatra Union

(EPSU)

Vice President, East Pakistan Chhatra Union (EPSU), Dhaka Hall Unit

Working Committee Member of Chittagong Jila & Shahar National Awami Party (Moulana Bhashani)

Working Committee Member of Feni National Awami Party (Moulana Bhashani) 1966-68  : Led movements as NAP activist

1969  : Participated in mass movements as NAP activist

1970  : Actively Participated in mass movement against Yahya

1971  : Actively organized & helped the freedom fighters in both Feni & Dhaka;

1972-85  : Established Printing Press and converted that into a leading Packaging Factory of Bangladesh; Established NCC Bank Limited, Eastland

Insurance Company Limited

1985-90  : Organized & established Feni Jila Shamity; Got elected as Vice President of the same

Established Mahbubul Huq High School at Faradnagar, Feni

1991-1996  : Got elected as Member of Parliament in the 5th National Assembly

2000 onwards  : President Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal Central Committee; Organized Krishak Dal in different areas of Bangladesh

Got elected several times as Chairman of the NCC Bank Limited

2014  : Died at National University Hospital at Singapore. He was suffering from lungs problems.
