"Making Out" is a song written by Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, and Tom Dumont for No Doubt's fourth studio album Rock Steady (2001). The song was produced by electronica musician, William Orbit and by No Doubt.

After initially being released as Rock Steady's fourth and final single, Interscope Records instead released the track as a promotional single a year after the album's release in 2001 in favor of "Running". It was released as a promotional single in The Philippines.[1] Despite being released as a promo single, the song was never performed live and was excluded from their 2002 world tour, Rock Steady Tour.[2]

Composition

"Making Out" is an electropop track.[1] Lyrically, the song discusses the anticipation that comes along with a kiss.
