Manipal Hospitals Klang (MHK), formerly known as Arunamari Specialist Medical Centre, is a private medical facility located in the south of the royal town of Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. Manipal Hospitals Klang (MHK) is part of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), a leading healthcare provider with over 2,000 doctors and 15 hospitals globally with 4,900 beds, serving over 2 million patients worldwide with a workforce of 16,500 people. [1]Manipal Hospitals Klang (MHK) provides primary and selected tertiary care services and is associated with over 30 insurance companies in Malaysia.[2][3]
Future expansion
In August 2013, Manipal Hospitals acquired the 72-bed Arunamari Specialist Medical Centre in Klang, Selangor district of Malaysia.[4] This US$100 million acquisition by Manipal Hospitals also includes a new 220-bed tertiary care hospital presently under construction in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang which will be commissioned by first half of 2016.[5][6]
A modern medical facility built on a 0.85-hectare site, Manipal Hospitals Klang (MHK) is being implemented in accordance with the Malaysian health care guidelines, MSQHA and also Joint Commission International (JCI).[7][8]
The new Manipal Hospitals Klang (MHK) in Bandar Bukit Tinggi will provide healthcare services with super specialities including cardiothoracic, neurology and paediatric surgeries, nephrology, vascular and plastic surgeries, cardiology, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, dental, trauma and critical care, orthopaedics, nose and throat surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology, dermatology and ophthalmology. Each of these departments will be a centre of excellence.[9]
The private medical centre would have a team of over 300 nursing staff and 60 resident and visiting specialists when commissioned by first half of 2016.[10]
