The mountain hasn't been subjugated, it's still there in all its terrible majesty, and the fact that he made it back down in one piece is no reason to speak of conquest. This attitude is the antithesis of humility and respect in the face of nature. It's long past time when we should object to and retire this terminology. undo Tag: Visual edit
