Marietta Chrousala (born 11 March 1983), also spelled Marieta Chrousala or Marieta Hrousala (Greek: Μαριέττα Χρουσαλά), is a Greek fashion model and television presenter.
Career
She was born on 11 March 1983 in the Greek village of Rizari outside Edessa, Imathia. In 1985 her family moved to Athens. She won the title Star Hellas in 2003 and was chosen to represent Greece at the Miss Universe 2003 pageant, finishing in fifteenth place. She had already been working voluntarily since 2002 for the 2004 Summer Olympics, while she was chosen after winning her title as one of the celebrities to take part in the Olympic Flame torch relay which finished in Greece. Chrousala has a degree from the University of Athens in Mass Media and Communication. She is working on a master's degree in Psychology of Communication. She is represented by Ace Models Agency and has appeared on the covers of numerous fashion magazines. She was the co-host of the TV game show "Poly tin Kyriaki" (Greek: Πολύ την Κυριακή) for its first season on Mega Channel. She left Mega Channel for Alter Channel to make her own show. She is the main host of the morning game show "I Ellada Pezei" (Greek: Η Ελλάδα παίζει).
Controversy
On 5 June 2010, Chrousala married Leon Patitsas, the British-born CEO of Atlas Maritime. Her wedding party, which took place aboard the Greek armored cruiser Georgios Averof, a famous war memorial, caused an uproar, especially when photos of the party surfaced in the media showing celebrities dancing on the floors of the ship and Navy officials taking part in the celebration, particularly in contrast with the economic crisis of 2010. Chrousala and Patitsas have two children: one daughter named Margo Patitsa (Greek: Μάργκω Πατίτσα), who was born in 2012, and one son named Spyros Patitsas (Greek: Σπύρος Πατίτσας), who was born in 2015.
