Mathieu Asselin (born 25 June 1973) is a French-Venezuelan photographer artist specializing in documentary photography.

Asselin worked on film productions in Caracas and then in Europe. Currently, he is based in New York City. He focuses on documentary photography and portraiture related to social issues.

His work has been included in the British Journal of Photography,[1] The New Yorker,[2] GEO,[3] Libération,[4] der Freitag,[5] Paris Match and exhibited in New York City, Miami, Washington and Caracas. In 2014, he selected for Plat(t)form at Fotomuseum Winterthur and as Artist in Residence with Imagine Science Films.[6][7][8]
