Medical Institute Jorhat (MIJ) (also known as Jorhat Rural Medical Institute) is a prestigious institution imparting medical education, located at Jorhat in the Indian state of Assam.

The institute trains Rural health practitioner (RHP); who serve as a medical professional in the rural areas at Sub center & PHC level. RHP are well trained practitioner of Allopathic system of medicine.

The course available / trained in the institution is known as Diploma in Medicine and Rural Health Care (DMRHC).[1][2]

DMRHC is very unusual and first of its kind Three (3) year medical course in Assam and entire India.
