MNP Expands in Quebec with Merger in Montreal

MNP marks a milestone by merging with WSBG LLP from Montreal. This gives MNP its first full service accounting firm in the region. Founded in 1964 WSBG LLP has grown into one of the most successful mid-sized accounting firms in Montreal. This merger helps MNP boost its already dominating presence in Canada. WSBG will remain in its current location but will now operate under the name Meyers Norris Penny. The merger will be fully in place effective January 01, 2011. [3]

MNP Takes over PWC's Personal Insolvency Practice

On July 1st 2010, Meyers Norris Penny took over PWC's personal insolvency practice from its various locations all across Canada. The practices acquired were all the way from Quebec to the West Coast. The premise of the acquisition was to strengthen MNP's personal insolvency practice in central Canada. MNP also maintains a corporate insolvency practice in Canada through its various offices. In Atlantic Canada however, PWC has retained its personal insolvency practice.[4]

MNP and Praxity

In 2010 MNP became a participating firm with Praxity, a unique global alliance of accounting firms. Praxity is a unique global alliance of like minded, Independent, and high quality accounting firms. Each participating praxity firm provides excellent accounting and business services and has an in depth knowledge of local markets and business environments. Praxity itself is a Non for Profit entity under the Belgium law with its headquarters based in London, England.[5]

The Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic is an annual mens and womens curling tournament held at the Medicine hat curling club in Alberta, Canada. The tournament is held every October.[6]
